Cheese Sauce for Fries


 

 Ingredients

- 200 ml whole milk  
- 150 g Cheddar cheese, grated  
- 1 tablespoon butter  
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour  
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard (optional)  
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)  
- Salt and pepper to taste  

Instructions


1. Prepare the Roux:
   In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.  
   Add the flour and whisk continuously for about 1 minute until smooth.  
2. Make the Sauce:
    Gradually pour in the milk while whisking to avoid lumps.  
    Continue stirring until the mixture thickens slightly.  
3. Add the Cheese & Seasonings:  
    Lower the heat and stir in the grated Cheddar cheese until fully melted.  
    Add mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.  
4. Serve Hot:  
Serve immediately with hot fries or other
snacks
